Born and raised near Savannah, Georgia on tiny Tybee Island, Austin Keen has never been too far from the ocean. This proximity to the water allowed Keen to discover a love for skimboarding that would not only give him a lifelong hobby, but a career as well.
After honing his skills on Tybee Island, Keen packed up his old “Beemer” and headed west to Laguna Beach, California – to make a splash in the professional skimboarding scene. Two years after his big move, Keen entered his first professional skimboarding competition, and the rest, as they say, is history.
Keen went on to travel across the globe competing and collaborating with the biggest names in wave sports – winning the 2013 World Championship of Skimboarding. He also earned a spot on the coveted SurferToday “Most Influential in Wave Sports” list.
He made a name for himself as a wakesurfer – signing with a world-leading wake brand, appearing on The Ellen Show, and making three separate appearances on SportsCenter’s “Top 10” segment.
