Born in Annapolis, Maryland, Mark Anderson began playing golf at age four. He enjoyed many sports during his youth, but his time at Beaufort Academy in South Carolina proved that golf was his calling.
At Beaufort Academy, Anderson earned All-State Honors throughout his high school years.
He went on to the University of South Carolina where he earned numerous accolades including SEC Freshman of the Year (2005), All-SEC First Team (2008), and SEC Spring Sports Academic Honor Roll (2006-2008). Notable stats during his time with the Gamecocks golf team included two tournament wins and seven top 10 finishes.
In non-collegiate amateur competition, he won the 2009 Master of the Amateurs Championship in Australia.
As a professional, Anderson has spent time on both the PGA and Korn Ferry (formerly Web.com) tours. He has two tournament wins, including the BMW Charity Pro-Am and the Country Club de Bogotá Championship in 2019.
He lists Wade Hampton, Pebble Beach, and Secession Golf Club as his favorite courses.
