After getting his first board at four-years-old, Florida native Zion Wright spent his early years taking pointers from the older kids at the skatepark. He entered his first competition at just eight-years-old.
That first event would light a fire in Wright that continued to burn as he improved his skills and began not only placing at events, but winning them as well. Thanks to a dedicated support system spearheaded by his dad, Wright was able to make quite a name for himself at a young age. At 16-years-old, Wright moved across the country without his family to live with friends and be closer to the action – ultimately to chase his goal of skating professionally.
An up-and-coming star, Wright continued his upward trajectory. He placed second in the Boardr Amateur event and won PHXAM in Phoenix, AZ in 2017. He also won the Vans Park Series contest – all before officially turning pro. Currently, Wright is striving to improve his skills in both street and park disciplines. He is also setting his sights on the upcoming world-competition qualifiers in 2020, with hopes of winning the first-ever international skateboarding gold medal.
