World Mental Health Day and CBD: What You Can Learn from the Pros
When we think about the challenges professional athletes face, we often focus on physical issues. Certainly, athletes at the highest levels of their sport constantly push their limits to achieve near superhuman speed and strength, frequently “play hurt,” and sometimes sustain catastrophic injuries.
But mental health challenges rarely get the same attention in sports – which is a shame considering how relatable they are for people like you and me.
October 10th is World Mental Health Day – the perfect time to shine a light on the mental and emotional issues so many of us face and the positive routines we can use to become healthier. And in a year when fears relating to a pandemic grip our planet, it’s a particularly important conversation to have.
About World Mental Health Day
The World Federation for Mental Health first established World Mental Health Day in 1992. Early iterations served as general awareness and advocacy campaigns.
Later, the organization created yearly themes to focus on specific mental health issues across the globe. A few themes over the years include Women and Mental Health, Building Awareness – Reducing Risk: Mental Illness & Suicide, Mental Health and Older Adults, and Mental Health in the Workplace.
The theme for World Mental Health Day 2020 is Mental Health for All: Greater Investment – Greater Access.
