2020 AMA Supercross Season Kicks Off with “Anaheim 1”

The 2020 Monster Energy AMA Supercross season is officially underway after an exciting night at Angel Stadium on January 4. The event marked Team cbdMD athlete Chad Reed’s 250th Main Event and the beginning of his final season.

The lights went up on the 2020 Monster Energy AMA Supercross season with Anaheim 1 at Angel Stadium on January 4th with cbdMD is the Exclusive CBD sponsor.

The 450SX division, provided thrills from beginning to end, including an incredible back-and-forth duel in the main event between Justin Barcia and rookie Adam Cianciarulo. Ultimately, Barcia would prevail against the rookie, winning his second consecutive Anaheim 1 main event.

Defending AMA Supercross Champion Cooper Webb fought through a flu bug to round out the podium.

The event was also the scene of two landmark moments for Team cbdMD athlete, Chad Reed.

After over two decades in the sport, Anaheim 1 set his final season of AMA Supercross in motion. He was clearly emotional during his January 3rd press conference, with Autoweek reporting that the Australian native choked up when discussing his final run.

“I’m proud of where I come from, but I’m proud of what I’ve done in my adult life here, too,” Reed said. “I feel complete, finally. This motorcycle thing has been my life, my world, it’s never easy to walk away from something you love so much.”

Reed also made an emotional Instagram where he described starting his final season in as surreal.

Anaheim 1 also served as Reed’s 250th main event start in Supercross competition.
