Destin Cantrell was born and raised in Orange County, California – an
epicenter for action sports and music subculture. He started riding
dirt bikes at the age of four years old, so it isn’t a stretch to say
he’s been in the saddle all of his life.
Cantrell began racing soon after learning to ride and remained focused
on this form of riding until he caught the freestyle bug as a
teenager. At 15, he was invited to perform at his first freestyle
motocross show at Angels Stadium in Anaheim.
Over the next few years, he made a name for himself at freestyle
competitions, earning podium places during the 2010 and 2011 Dew Tour
for his tremendous whips.
In 2015, Cantrell and his teammates at Metal Mulisha Fitz Army stepped
into the national spotlight as contestants on America’s Got Talent.
The motocross daredevils wowed judges and fans alike and made it as
far as the series’ semi-finals.
The next year, he placed third in the 2016 Monster Energy Cup Biggest
Whip competition and secured a spot in the following year’s X Games.
It was there that he scored his most important competitive win – a
gold medal for Moto X Best Whip.
