Veterans Day acts as a necessary reminder of the incredible commitment, honor, and sacrifice it requires to defend the liberties of all Americans.
And to those who served so valiantly, all of us at cbdMD are eternally grateful.
Team cbdMD athlete Keith Richardson is a professional MMA fighter, trainer, gym owner, and U.S. Marine Corps veteran. After his service in the Middle East, the former state wrestling champion turned to MMA training to help with his transition to civilian life. He’s described MMA as his “warrior release.” His first professional match, a win by submission, took place on May 2, 2009, in Akron, Ohio.
Over 10 years later, he continues his professional fighting career while operating Modern Warrior MMA, a martial arts school based in Rock Hill, SC.
He recently sat down with our production team to talk about his career in the military and how he defines the word “veteran.” In the video, the three-tour Iraq War vet discusses why he chose to serve, what he sacrificed to do so, and how his service enhanced his view on family.
You can learn more about Keith in his Team cbdMD bio.
cbdMD honors and supports active and retired military personnel 365 days a year through its Military Discount Program, which offers a 30 percent discount on all purchases.
“To me, a veteran’s somebody that loves peace enough that they’re willing to fight for it.”
