Cormier Displays Champion's Spirit at UFC 252

Though the judges gave the decision in his opponents favor, Daniel "DC" Cormier fought like the champion he is and made us proud to continue to call him a cbdMD Athlete.

Team cbdMD’s Daniel “DC” Cormier trained diligently for his third and final meeting against heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic. Unfortunately for DC and his fans, he left the octagon without the coveted belt after fight judges delivered a decision in his rival’s favor.

Cormier took the champ through the full five rounds, despite losing vision in his left eye for a large part of the bout – the result of a third-round eye poke from Miocic.

ESPN’s Ariel Helwani reported that DC suffered a torn cornea during the bout.

Cormier powered through the injury, proving once again why he’s one of the greatest combat sports athletes of all time.

But is this the end of Cormier's fighting career?

DC left little to the imagination in his post-fight interview with Joe Rogan.

“I’m not interested in fighting for anything but titles, and I don’t imagine there's going to be a title in the future,” Cormier said.

“That’ll be it.”

But that hasn’t stopped observers from speculating that we could see Cormier in the octagon again. And any fan of MMA knows that you can never say never.

Either way, his legacy is a sparkling example of how true champions conduct themselves in and out of the ring.

And cbdMD is proud to celebrate and support Daniel Cormier as a fighter, a broadcaster, and an incredible human being. You inspire us each and every day with your dedication, drive, and astounding fortitude.

We’ll always be in your corner.
