Tell Lawmakers to Vote NO on the Hemp Ban

North Carolina is considering dangerous hemp language that could wipe out more than 95% of the hemp products currently sold in the state β€” including the non-intoxicating CBD products hundreds of thousands of North Carolinians rely on every day. cbdMD is standing with our customers to fight it.

The Problem

HB 328 doesn't regulate hemp. It effectively bans it.

Lawmakers are currently adjourned and set to return on July 27, when HB 328 could be taken up by the House. The Senate has already adopted the HB 328 conference report, so House members need to hear from North Carolina residents now.

The HB 328 conference report includes language that aligns with the pending federal hemp ban by imposing an unworkable 0.4mg total THC per container limit and broadly restricting hemp-derived cannabinoid products. If passed, this language would effectively prohibit 95% of currently legal hemp products in North Carolina β€” including non-intoxicating full-spectrum CBD products people use for sleep, recovery, and everyday wellness.

This is a huge threat to the small businesses, farmers, manufacturers, retailers, jobs, and consumers who rely on these products in the state. Tell your representative to reject this harmful language and vote NO to protect North Carolina's hemp industry.

What the conference report would actually limit

  • Total THC per container β€” not per serving β€” making most full-spectrum products non-compliant overnight.
  • Broadly restricts hemp-derived cannabinoid products beyond intoxicating formulations.
  • Mirrors the pending federal hemp ban language, stacking state and federal risk.
  • No carve-out for non-intoxicating, lab-tested CBD wellness products.

What We're Asking For

Labeling Standards

Clear, accurate labeling that empowers consumers to make informed choices.

Support

Enforcement

Real enforcement against bad actors selling untested or mislabeled products.

The hemp industry supports commonsense regulation β€” including age limits, product testing, labeling standards, and enforcement against bad actors. But prohibition is not the answer.
