Daniel Cormier Pursues Heavyweight Gold at UFC 252

Team cbdMD athlete Daniel “DC” Cormier is one of the greatest mixed martial artists of his generation. It’s a fact no one can deny.

But he’ll reach a new plateau with a win in his bout against Stipe Miocic at UFC 252 on August 15th in Las Vegas, NV.

When asked to describe the importance of this match, Cormier said, “This fight is the build-up of years of hard work and preparation. Thousands of hours on the mat and endless amounts of time training.

“This fight means everything to me, literally everything.”

The match will mark the third engagement between the two heavyweight powerhouses.

In their first encounter, Cormier entered the match as the reigning light heavyweight champion. Moving up in weight class, he defeated Miocic with a stunning first-round knockout.

With the win, DC captured the UFC Heavyweight Championship and became only the second fighter to hold UFC championships in two separate weight divisions simultaneously.

After successfully defending his heavyweight title against Derrick Lewis, Cormier became the first double champion to defend both belts.

Miocic and Cormier met again, 13 months after their original bout. This fight was a much more competitive affair, lasting four rounds. While many observers gave Cormier the edge after three rounds, Miocic would take the win and regain the championship with a fourth-round TKO.

Oddsmakers currently give Cormier a slight edge over Miocic in the match that will close their trilogy.
