cbdMD Deepens Commitment to Veterans with Donation to Veterans Village of Charlotte

cbdMD is proud to show further commitment to our veterans on this Veteran's Day with a donation to Veterans Village of Charlotte.

Veterans Day, observed annually on November 11, marks an opportunity for us all to consider and appreciate the commitment of those who serve in the United States Armed Forces. However, veterans need and deserve our support 365 days a year.

In order to meet our commitment to making CBD products accessible to all, cbdMD offers a 30 percent discount to active and retired military personnel. Veterans who are legally disabled are eligible for a 40 percent discount.

cbdMD has also pledged a $5,000 donation to Veterans Village of Charlotte.

Veterans Village of Charlotte is a project overseen by Family Forum – an organization dedicated to providing assistance to veterans in and around Charlotte, North Carolina.

Martin Sumichrast, Chairman & co-CEO of cbdMD, announced the contribution in a video released today.

Family Forum specializes in supportive housing for male and female veterans, a concept that goes beyond simply providing shelter. Along with transitional and temporary housing, the organization aims to provide clothing, cooked meals, mentoring, and instruction in independent living skills – all leading to the ultimate goal of equipping veterans with the tools to lead happy, healthy, and fulfilling lives.

For Family Forum president Rhett Batanides, the work to provide assistance to veterans is a cause that is close to his heart.

“As a combat Veteran myself, who has lost friends from PTSD, I felt the need to give back once I was out of the service, and Family Forum seemed to be the perfect fit,” Batanides said.

“With their incredibly high success rate of rehabilitating homeless veterans with PTSD back into the community with jobs, housing, and often back with their families, this organization is doing veteran rehabilitation the right way, one veteran at a time.”

On cbdMD’s donation to Family Forum, Martin Sumichrast said, “We are pleased to support an organization that’s doing this incredible work here in our own community.”

“Studies have shown that supportive housing is an effective way to support long-term housing stability, employment, and health for veterans. We’re proud to contribute to Family Forum’s efforts and strongly encourage others to support similar initiatives for veterans in their own communities.”
